5 reasons CBD might not be working for you (Video)

by Taylor Hogan

Have you ever asked yourself, "why isn't CBD working for me?"

If you have tried CBD and you didn't feel any of the effects, you are not alone. There are some legitimate reasons why CBD may not be working for you. Since it's a new supplement to many, there is still a lot of confusion about where to buy, dosage, and how to use. All of which can impact the effectiveness of CBD.

But don't give up on CBD just yet! Check out these reasons why CBD may not be working for you and why giving it another try could be worthwhile.

1) The CBD is not from a reputable source

CBD is still a new-to-market supplement. Because the industry is not regulated by the FDA or USDA, companies do not have any obligation to sell quality products. Many CBD companies make exaggerated claims about the potency. Meaning, consumers buying from these companies are getting low-quality products that don't produce the expected benefits from CBD.

What's the solution? Choose to purchase your CBD from companies that third-party test their products for quality and consistent dosages. "Third-party lab testing" means that a CBD company sends its product to an independent company to test CBD concentration, and to ensure there are no traces of any toxins, such as mycotoxins, residual solvents, heavy metals, or pesticides. Populum provides third-party lab results with each ordered product.

2) You're not taking the right dosage

There can often be confusion regarding the correct dosage of CBD. Different conditions will require differing amounts of CBD. If you're unfamiliar with hemp CBD oil, deciding where to start can be difficult. Populum offers concentrations ranging from 250mg to 1000mg. We recommend starting with 8mg CBD per day and adjusting up or down based on the desired effect.

3) You might not be using the right form of CBD

The nature of CBD's makeup has allowed us to use it in a variety of ways. There are now literally dozens of different types of CBD applications - from the more conventional CBD oils you take orally to CBD skin creams. Depending on why you're using CBD, what form of CBD product you use can make a big difference.

Different people may respond better to one form of CBD than others. For instance, if you're interested in immediate relief, you might prefer a topical, such as our Cold Therapy Hemp Rub, which offers a cooling relief. If you're looking to experience the long-term benefits of CBD, you should consider a CBD oil tincture or a CBD capsule. With these oral supplements, make sure to establish a routine and be sure to stick to it and take it consistently every day for thirty days. Skipping it for a couple days or taking it randomly can potentially disrupt its effectiveness.

4) You are not using a full-spectrum CBD

You may have seen both CBD isolates and full-spectrum products on the market. So what's the difference? A CBD isolate is a refined product that "isolates" the CBD molecule and is a processed version of the hemp extract. A CBD isolate doesn't contain any of the other compounds naturally found in a hemp plant. Some people might choose a CBD isolate to ensure that there is no THC in their product, but a drawback is that you don't get the full synergistic benefits that come when all of the compounds work together. CBD isolates are known to be less effective than a full-spectrum product.

In full-spectrum CBD products, cannabinoids (including CBD) and terpenes work together to create what is called an entourage effect, meaning that the restorative benefits of the whole plant is greater than the sum of its parts. Full-spectrum hemp CBD is purely extracted and minimally refined to leave most of the hemp plant intact.

A reason you may not be feeling the full effects of the CBD could be because you're using a product that isolates the CBD molecule rather than a product that contains the CBD molecule AND the natural cannabinoids and terpenes. Populum offers full-spectrum CBD products for this reason.

5) You might have unrealistic expectations

Just like every other supplement, all people metabolize CBD differently. This can be due to differing metabolic speeds, biochemistry and genetic makeup. That's why we encourage customers to give it a fair try by being consistent in taking it daily for the first 30 days.

Since CBD is a new and emerging product category, there is still a lot of research to be done to confirm the effectiveness of CBD to treat different conditions. In the meantime, Populum has sold CBD to more than 10,000 customers. In that time, we have collected more than 700 personal reviews from our customers on how they used CBD.
