Top 5 questions to consider before gifting CBD
by Greg Parker
CBD has been a hot topic in the wellness space this past year. After the passage of the Farm Bill of 2018, this hemp-derived extract is now one of the most discussed topics in general (According to a search analysis, CBD is more popular than Jesus, Kanye West, the NBA, Taylor Swift, and The Beatles right now).
With this popularity, there’s been an explosion of dozens of different CBD product types on the market. From the more conventional tinctures, capsules, topicals, to even CBD peanut butter and CBD hummus, this natural compound seems to be getting infused in most everyday products. Yet, with so many customers trying CBD for the first time, this is also causing a lot of confusion.
What type of CBD product should you buy or try? What will be most effective and beneficial?
With the holiday season coming up, the Populum team has put together a guide on what to consider when gifting CBD to your friends & family, especially those who never tried CBD before. Here are the 5 questions to ask when deciding which type of CBD product to gift your family & friends.
1. What’s their lifestyle like?
When considering what type of CBD to gift your loved one, it’s important to consider lifestyle. Is he retired and spends a lot of time at home? Or is she a business professional who’s on the road every other week?
CBD is known to be most beneficial when used consistently, whether its taken as an oral supplement or used topically. So when gifting CBD, it’s important to consider what type of product would be most convenient for them and easiest for them to remember to take daily. For instance, if they travel often, capsules might be easier to carry than a tincture.
Working with thousands of customers, we’ve come to learn that taking lifestyle into consideration actually makes a big impact on whether the user has an effective experience with CBD.
2. Do they have hobbies that CBD could supplement?
How could CBD help their everyday routine and allow them to enjoy life more?
Is he or she an athlete? Or does he or she suffer from aches and pains? Or are you gifting CBD to a veteran? A teacher? A senior? These are all things to consider when determining your CBD gift. Topicals, like CBD Face Oil and Cold Therapy Hemp Rub, are great options when it’s used to target certain problem areas. Supplements, such as capsules or tinctures, are ideal for one’s general wellbeing.
3. Do they have a stigma against hemp CBD?
While hemp has been around for hundreds of years, CBD is still relatively new to the public. This is because it’s largely been prohibited (and forgotten) for the past 80 years, due to its close association with marijuana. For those who grew up when cannabis was portrayed as “Reefer Madness,” it’s easy to have some misconceptions around CBD.
If your loved ones have such stigmas against CBD, it might be prudent to ease them into CBD. Gifting them a topical or skin care product rather than an oral supplement can be a great introductory step. We’ve found that customers who are weary of CBD find our Cold Rub less intimidating than oral CBD supplements.
4. Do they regularly take other supplements?
Does he or she keep track of her daily supplements in a pillbox? If so, capsules might be a very easy way to add CBD to their daily routine. Does your loved one have a skin care regimen? If so, the CBD + Lavender Face Oil is a great addition. Finding ways to naturally add CBD to their existing daily habits will offer a much better chance of long-term success.
5. Why/How do you think CBD will benefit them?
Going back to the fundamental question, it all amounts to who you are gifting CBD to. Whether it’s your dad, mom, significant other, or distant cousin, think about why and how they could benefit from CBD. Whether it’s a tincture, face oil, capsule, or rub, ask yourself why you’re thinking of gifting CBD to that special person in the first place.
We’re (obviously) huge advocates of CBD and think gifting CBD to your loved ones this holiday season is a great and refreshing idea. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact our Customer Experience team by emailing us at [email protected] or calling us at 855.872.2772.
